The data we collect about you

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

Identity Data includes first name, last name, username or similar identifier, title, last 4 digits of your identification number, date of birth and gender. Contact Data includes billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers. Financial Data includes bank account and payment card details. Specifically, to support the operation of our business and provide you with seamless services, we may share certain personal information with carefully selected third-party service providers. These include, but are not limited to, Stripe (for secure payment processing), Mabang (for order management), Kuainiu (for customer service support), and Tongdun (for risk assessment and fraud prevention). Such sharing is conducted strictly in accordance with contractual agreements and data processing agreements that limit the use of your personal information solely to the specific purpose of delivering services on our behalf. These third parties are not permitted to use your data for any other purpose and are required to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed.

In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.


Children Data security

Consistent with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act and relevant guidelines, we do not intentionally collect or solicit Personal Information from anyone under the age of 13, nor do we knowingly allow such persons to register for our services, without first obtaining verifiable parental consent.

Should we learn that Personal Information has been collected from a child under 13 without the requisite parental consent, we are committed to deleting that information as quickly as possible. Data retention

How long will you use my personal data for?

We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other requirements.

We will retain your personal information for as long as we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so, to provide services or products to you, or as required or permitted by applicable laws.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

How long your data is kept for will also depend on how you use our website (for example if you are logged in as a member or you are visiting our website as a guest) and what the information you provide to us is used for.

For example, if you are a registered member, certain data will be retained for a length of time following termination or deletion of your account, in order to comply with applicable laws [(for example, if a court order is received about your account, we would retain your account data for longer than the usual retention period when an account is deleted)] or in case of disputes.   • No fee usually required
  • You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we could refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.

  • We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.
  • Time limit to respond

  • Request the Closure of Your Account and the Deletion of Your Personal Information
  • You can submit a request for us to permanently close your Maytree account and delete your personal information by contacting support@maytreebox.com.
  • Note: Once your account has been closed, all of the products and services accessed through your account will no longer be available to you, across any Maytree sites globally.
  • A confirmation notification will be sent to the email address associated to your account or via text message after the account is successfully closed.
  • Note: Once your account is closed, it is no longer accessible by you or anyone else, and it cannot be restored. If you decide later that you want to start ordering from us again, or if you would like to use website features that require an account, you'll need to create a new account.
